Vince Gilligan developed and produced the American crime drama television series Breaking Bad for AMC. The series, which is set and shot in Albuquerque, New Mexico, centers on Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a dejected high school chemistry teacher who is underpaid, overqualified, and suffering from stage-three lung cancer. Before he passes away, White turns to a life of crime and teams up with a former classmate, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine while avoiding the perils of the criminal underground. After five seasons and 62 episodes, Breaking Bad ended on September 29, 2013, five years after it made its AMC debut on January 20, 2008.
