The 2023 Hindi-language crime drama film Haddi was written and produced by Akshat Ajay Sharma for Zee Studios and Anandita Studios. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anurag Kashyap, and Ila Arun all play significant roles in the movie. In the movie, Nawazuddin Siddiqui portrays two roles, one of which is transgender.
In a teaser poster released in August 2022, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is shown as a transgender person. Soon after, the shoots began. It was filmed in Noida and Ghaziabad as well as other cities in western Uttar Pradesh. Nawaz uploaded a video of the daily, three-hour preparation process for the shootings midway through the filming.
