Due to a crisis that has resulted in a shortage of basic commodities and a despotic administration, Mia and Nico decide to flee Spain. Both their lives and the wellbeing of their unborn kid are in danger. Uma, the couple’s firstborn child, had already died after being abducted by the military. Mia carries the shame of being responsible for Uma’s absence.
They’ll board a cargo ship to Ireland as part of Nico’s escape strategy. They split up, though, and Mia is left to deal with difficulties on her own. During a military checkpoint where everyone else on her truck is killed, she is able to hide. Nico is in danger, so Mia attempts to warn him but can’t get through to him.
