Joel Kinnaman, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, Harold Torres, and Catalina Sandino Moreno feature in John Woo’s action thriller Silent Night, which opens in theaters in 2023. The film, which has very little spoken language, centers on an enraged father seeking revenge for the loss of his son, who was shot and killed on Christmas Eve by members of a local gang during a drive-by.
After Paycheck in 2003, Woo’s first American picture was Silent Night. In April and May of 2022, Mexico City hosted filming. Critics gave it mixed reviews when Lionsgate released it in the US on December 1, 2023, and it barely made $11 million globally.
