Anthony Stacchi is the director of the computer-animated fantasy action comedy movie The Monkey King from 2023. The titular trickster, played by Jimmy O. Yang, faces the Dragon King (Bowen Yang) in the Peilin Chou-directed movie, which was influenced by the epic Ming Dynasty classic Journey to the West. Additionally, it features Jo Koy, BD Wong, Jolie Haong-Rappaport, and Stephanie Hsu in supporting voice roles.
It made its international premiere on July 30, 2023, at the 22nd New York Asian Film Festival, where it was chosen as the film’s finale. On August 18, 2023, it was made available on Netflix internationally.
