Vidhu Vinod Chopra is the writer and director of the 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film 12th Fail. It is based on Anurag Pathak’s eponymous novel, which tells the true story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, an Indian Police Service officer who overcome tremendous poverty to become an officer, and is produced under the Vinod Chopra Films brand. Starring in the movie are Priyanshu Chatterjee, Anant V Joshi, Medha Shankar, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Vikrant Massey.
On October 27, 2023, it was released in theaters. It became a sleeper smash and won praise from critics.
