Indian singer and Punjabi music artist Amar Singh Chamkila was born on July 21, 1960, and passed away on March 8, 1988. Chamkila became well-known because to his colorful language, high-pitched singing, and original songs that used tumbi. His upbringing in a Punjabi village had an impact on his music.
At the height of his fame, on March 8, 1988, two band members and Chamkila, together with his second wife Amarjot, were assassinated in an assassination that is still unsolved.
