Boomika also spelt as Bhoomika is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language eco action thriller television film written and directed by Rathindran R. Prasad. The film is also taunted as the first film with the genre of eco action thriller. The film stars Aishwarya Rajesh, Avantika Vandanapu, Pavel Navageethan in the lead roles. The film resembles similar to the storyline of Karthik Subbaraj’s directorial Mercury. It was directly released via Star Vijay on 22 August 2021 and streamed internationally through Netflix, the following day (23 August 2021). The film opened to average reviews and the film was largely praised for its unpredictable strong screenplay and the cinematography was positively lauded by the critics.
Samyuktha (Aishwarya Rajesh) along with her husband Gowtham (Vidhu) and her son Siddhu arrive at a hill station in order to begin their work on a lucrative deal regarding a real estate contract with a politician. They move to a school building which was abandoned for a long time and they decide to make gains by establishing a residential complex. Samyuktha’s friend Gayathri (Surya Ganapathy) also joins them in their journey. However, things turn dramatically as they sense mysterious activities, turn of events and sequences surrounding them from the first day itself.
