CBI 5: The Brain is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language mystery thriller film directed by K. Madhu and written by S. N. Swamy. The film stars Mammootty reprising his role as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer Sethurama Iyer along with an ensemble cast. It is the fifth installment of CBI film series. The film was released in theatres on May 1st, 2022. It was later released on the OTT platform Netflix on June 12th, 2022.
CBI 5: The Brain revolves around an investigation which is considered the most difficult case in the career of Sethurama Iyer, a senior CBI official. The case revolves around a basket killing of several people connected to each other. The conspiracy behind the killing and how Iyer manages to crack the case forms the crux of the movie.
