Dil Bekaraar is an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s Those Pricey Thakur Girls. Starring Sahher Bambba and Akshay Oberoi, the web series premiered on November 26.

What makes a comedy-drama series a great entertainer? Charismatic leads, a joyful story and equal parts of passion and pathos. The idea is to have a joyous experience while savouring the colours of romance and comedy. When you start watching Dil Bekaraar, an official adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s bestselling novel Those Pricey Thakur Girls, you do get that warmth and happiness.

Set in the 80s, the 10-episode series Dil Bekaraar revolves around day-to-day shenanigans of Justice LN Thakur (Raj Babbar), his wife Mamta (Poonam Dhillon) and their alphabetically named five daughters Anjini (Sukhmani Sadana), Binodini (Anjali Anand), Chandu, Debjani (Sahher Bambba) and Eshwari (Medha Shankar). The Thakur family resides in New Delhi’s posh Hailey Road and is packed with unique characters just like any other Indian family.

Justice LN Thakur and Mamta’s eldest daughter, Anjini is married. However, she always finds new ways to seek her family’s attention. Binodini, the second daughter, is mostly interested in her share in the family property. Chandu, whose face was not revealed in the entire series, eloped on the day of her wedding. The lead character Debjani aka Dabbu rose to fame after her appearance on Deshdarpan channel as a newsreader. And lastly, Eshwari, the youngest daughter of the Thakur family is a schoolgoer, who has no clue what she wants to do in the future.
