In the 2014 American action-adventure fantasy movie Hercules, Dwayne Johnson plays the title role. Ryan J. Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the screenplay, while Brett Ratner is in charge of directing it. Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, and John Hurt also appear in the movie. It is based on the limited series The Thracian Wars from Steve Moore’s graphic novel Hercules. The movie centers on Hercules, a self-styled demigod, and his mercenary squad as they command the Thracian army in battle against a warlord.
Hercules was made available through Paramount Pictures on July 25, 2014.[9][10] It was one of two Hercules movies produced by Hollywood studios that were released in 2014; the other was Lionsgate’s The Legend of Hercules. On a $100 million budget, the movie made $244 million at the box office and garnered generally positive reviews from critics, with some praising Johnson’s performance and the action scenes.
