Laapataa Ladies, which translates to “Lost ladies,” is a comedy-drama released in 2024 in India in the Hindi language. It was produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aamir Khan, and Kiran Rao. The film, which stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastav, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan, narrates the tale of two young brides who are switched to their husbands’ homes during a train voyage.
Noukadubi, a 1906 novel by Rabindranath Tagore that centers on a case of mistaken identity, is the basis for the movie. Numerous celluloid adaptations of the novel have been produced. Ghunghat (1960) and Milan (1946), both starring Dilip Kumar, were based on the same material.
