The protagonist of the tale is 7-year-old Yaman Shastry, who serves as the family’s glue. His parents pay him a weekend visit, but he lives with his grandparents. He has a strong bond with Guruji, his grandfather.
When Yaman’s father, Malhar, is given the opportunity to relocate to the US, things become complicated because Guruji won’t allow Yaman leave. The family ends up suing one another in court.
