Based on the South Korean drama Squid Game, Squid Game: The Challenge is a British reality competition television series.
Independent television production companies Studio Lambert and the Garden collaborated on the ten-episode series, with Studio Lambert overseeing physical production in the UK.
On November 22, 2023, Squid Game: The Challenge’s first five episodes became available on Netflix worldwide.
Four hundred and fifty-six contestants vie for the chance to win US$4.56 million (about £3.6 million), the biggest single cash reward in the history of game shows and reality television. Andrew Kravis’s $2,600,000 record was shattered when he won The Million Second Quiz. Each participant is tested to the brink of their abilities and made to consider the lengths they will go to in order to prevail in a series of games. Contestants don’t die when eliminated, in contrast to the show it is based on.
