Warner Bros. Pictures is the distributor of the 2018 American superhero movie Aquaman, which is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. This entry in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is the sixth one.
Jason Momoa plays the lead role in this James Wan-directed film, which has a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall based on a story by Geoff Johns, Wan, and Beall. Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman provide supporting performances.
It is the first full-length feature film centered around the character and the third live-action theatrical picture starring Aquaman, after Justice League (2017) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). In the film Aquaman, Arthur Curry, the heir to the Atlantean underwater realm, is faced with leading his people against Orm, his half-brother, who wants to bring the seven undersea kingdoms together to oppose the surface world.
