2011’s Born to Be Wild is a short American nature documentary about orphaned elephants and orangutans. Drew Fellman wrote the script, while David Lickley directed it. Warner Bros. Pictures and IMAX Pictures handled distribution in the US. Morgan Freeman serves as the movie’s narrator. It was released on April 8, 2011. The movie had its world premiere for two primary schools and two secondary schools in Montreal, Quebec, on March 30, 2011, at 9:30 AM in the Montreal Science Centre IMAX Telus Theatre.
The Humane Society of the United States honored it with the Genesis Award for Best Documentary Feature in March 2012 “for its celebration of the people rehabilitating baby elephants and orangutans orphaned by poaching and habitat encroachment”.
