James Mangold is the director of the 2023 action adventure movie Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which he also co-wrote with Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and David Koepp. The fifth and last film in the Indiana Jones series, it is the sequel to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).
Harrison Ford, John Rhys-Davies, and Karen Allen reprise their roles as Marion Ravenwood, Sallah, and Indiana Jones, respectively. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen join the cast as newcomers. The movie, which is set in 1969, centers on Indy and his estranged goddaughter Helena as they search for a potent artifact ahead of Nazi-turned-NASA scientist Jürgen Voller, who wants to use it to change the course of World War II.
