Sex Education 2023 Season 4 review

The Sex Education crew is back for their final, heartbreaking season, which is full of absurdity, folly, empathy, and poignancy. Well, most of them are back. Of course, if you’ve been watching Netflix’s teen sex romp all along, you know the drill: Almost everyone will be the silliest and most stubborn version of themselves until they learn a lesson, at which point the program will make you cry, bucking its own tone.

Everybody has a cellphone, but the storyline will have it that they don’t know how to use it properly, leading to a lot of miscommunications and plenty of annoyance. But hold on, the cast is so endearing that you’ll forgive the annoying moments and persevere through it all until the series gives you, more often than not, a brilliant, gorgeous conclusion. The little marvel of Sex Education is that it can initially come off as a cringe-comedy circus before overwhelming you with its sincerity of purpose and considerate inclusion. When the dust settles on the ridiculousness, and there is plenty of it, you’ll always discover a deeper, more sympathetic resolve since the series is fundamentally about people dealing with pain and loneliness.
