Wednesday is an American coming of age supernatural horror comedy television series based upon the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, it stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Gwendoline Christie appearing in supporting roles. Four out of the eight episodes are directed by Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer.
The series premiered on November 16, 2022, and was released on Netflix on November 23 to positive critical reviews, with praise directed toward Ortega’s performance. After being expelled from high school for trying to kill her brother, Pugsley’s bullies, Wednesday Addams starts attending Nevermore Academy, a school for monstrous misfits once attended by her parents, Gomez and Morticia.
